These Chilean flamingos tending their nest are a couple of gay boy flamingos I used to care for at the NCZoo, who were devoted to each other despite having multiple females to choose from. They learned to incubate the eggs of other younger females who were not caring for their eggs, and even hatched and raised surrogate chicks for the younger and informed females who couldn’t. They were the best dads. You can read their story over on A Zookeeper’s Memoir. Read for Free. Click Here.
